Massage and Integrative Bodywork Therapy

Massage and Integrative Bodywork Therapy is the manipulation of the body’s soft tissue to promote blood circulation of the muscles and joints, removing waste products in the body and easing pain. It also enhances tissue healing from surgery and minor injury, lower blood pressure, and improves posture.

Bodywork produces deep relaxation, allowing the body to rejuvenate. It also increases awareness of mental and physical stress so you can make small changes to prevent long-term damage to your health. Regular treatment can boost your immune system, heighten your awareness and improve your body image to enhance your confidence and performance.
The most common types of massage are:

Swedish Massage:

Applies gentle gliding strokes to ease the tension of muscles and increase blood flow for pure relaxation. Swedish massage is the basis for all other massage techniques.
Deep Tissue Massage:
Uses firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia to break up scar tissue
from injury caused by trauma or overuse.

Prenatal Massage:
A gentle massage, given throughout pregnancy to alleviate the stress, anxiety and discomfort of pregnancy, such as back pain, acid reflux, swelling of the muscles, insomnia, irritability, fatigue, nausea, and constipation. During the latter stages of pregnancy, the client is massaged while lying on her side. Our therapists have specific prenatal training.
